Briggs Policies and Accreditations

BE Safe logo

As well as choosing us for our excellent equipment and quality of service you also want to know that we operate our business using procedures that are monitored and approved.

ISO Accreditation: Quality and Environment

All our operations are covered by ISO 9001 and 14001 certification. With sites across the country we make sure that our customers know they’re getting the best when they work with Briggs.

We have one of the UK’s largest fleet of mobile engineers, as well as servicing and customisation facilities at our regional service centres. This means understanding the potential for environmental impact, disposing of all waste materials in a responsible and documented fashion. We also work to recycle as much as possible and to minimise non-recyclable waste.

No other materials handling company in the UK has this level of accreditation for all locations giving you the peace of mind that you are dealing with a quality company.

Health and Safety

When you have Briggs people on your site you know that they’re trained, skilled and experienced, and that they will adhere to the specific requirements of your business. Our Safe Contractor status is something that we take very seriously.

This culture of SHEQ awareness is for the whole of our business, not simply those involved in engineering or visiting customers. Briggs takes health and safety seriously so you know that when we safety check a piece of equipment, it has been thoroughly checked and you can trust it.

Within our SHEQ department we control LOLER Thorough Examinations - a requirement for legal compliance. Briggs TE's are performed by independent industry experts Allianz. Also all trucks delivered from Briggs undergo a rigorous pre-delivery inspection (PDI).

Briggs Equipment provides you with the reassurance of being a reliable and trustworthy partner. You can trust our operations and you can trust our products.

In recent years the importance of managing carbon emissions has increased. The UK government was one of the first to make a real commitment towards carbon reduction, pledging an 80% reduction by 2050.

Briggs believes so strongly in reducing its carbon emissions that it has created a carbon policy, which has been signed by our CEO and states that Briggs will have reduced its carbon emissions by 80% in 2040 and be carbon neutral in 2050. This is a huge 39 year commitment that will see reductions in our environmental impact but also improved operations nationally, providing a better service to our customers.

Briggs Equipment is also making changes that include:

  • 'Prevention is better than cure' - Briggs believes strongly in preventing harm to the environment, it has a dedicated auditing team who make sure that our engineers, waste stations and depots are following the correct procedures and that all the engineers have correct training. It’s better to prevent harm than it is to remedy it.
  • Waste management - Preventing waste helps create a resource, whether it is energy, fuel or waste from operations, Briggs believes that lowering waste saves money and makes a significant reduction to its impact on the environment.

Legal compliance: The UK has lots of environmental legislation that aims to protect the environment for future generations. Briggs Equipment employs an environment team who can assist in environmental compliance audits, sales advice and customer support.
