Briggs significantly increases uptime for Veka fleet

Originating in Germany in 1969, Veka PLC are the UK’s largest window and door systems manufacturer. They are an award winner within their field, being recognised for their Manufacturing and Business commitment in recent years. Based in Burnley within the North West of England, Veka have been an existing customer of Barloworld/Briggs for 16 years.
Three years ago the fleet size was 15 units of which were on a long term rental agreement, with a presence of a competitor also familiar on site. The North West team have worked collectively with Veka’s management to forge a strong partnership which has allowed Briggs to increase the fleet size to 33 units. The fleet is currently a combination of Combi-lifts, Yale, Moffetts and Cleaning equipment all of which range in capacity and specifications to suit the operative demands and the future development of their site.
The Combi-lift units make up just under 45% of Veka’s fleet range and are a fundamental element to the Veka production. The remaining percentage is made up of Yale Counterbalance forklifts and Stackers, HIAB mounted forklifts and cleaning equipment. The core of their fleet is supported by Fork Truck Controls, enabling an effective, consistent and controlled working practice. Evidently, since the fleet has gone live, Neil Wearing, Logistics Manager, has been able to demonstrate significant savings, improved safety measures and best working practice throughout their shifts.
Veka are active users on Briggs’ B.E Portal, using it to log breakdowns, identify common trends throughout their fleet, track both historic and future service reports and monitor machine usage, all of which are used as a foundation within their account review meetings enabling us to achieve a continuation of a healthy fleet and customer satisfaction.
