Customer Engagement Event helps raise £5,000 for Prostate Cancer UK

Briggs Equipment, its customers, and partners, have helped raise £5,000 for Prostate Cancer UK at a recent Customer Engagement Day Event.

The day saw over 60 people descend on Whilton Mill Karting Track for a day of fast paced racing action, overseen by Briggs Equipment’s sponsored British Touring Car Championship driver, Aron Taylor-Smith. Aron was on-hand to provide expert support and guidance to the participants about gaining valuable seconds around the racetrack and also helped with the fundraising efforts. A number of our equipment partners, including Hyster-Yale, Hako and JCB, also displayed a selection of their products, providing attendees the opportunity to view first hand the industry leading technology.

The main objective of the day was to raise valuable funds for Prostate Cancer UK, Briggs Equipment’s 2021 Charity Partner and the £5,000 raised will go directly towards funding crucial research and tests to help learn more about the disease and allow men to get diagnosed quicker.

The team from Gwynedd Forklifts were crowned champions at the end of the event, congratulations for some excellent karting skills!

Leigh Edgley, Briggs Equipment’s Group Sales & Marketing Director, commented:

“Firstly, I’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone who attended the event and contributed towards the fundraising.  At Briggs, we take our commitment towards charity extremely seriously and it was great to see our customers really get on-board with those values and help us support such a valuable cause. Thanks to their generosity, we have been able achieve a fantastic fundraising total that will go some way towards funding the research and tests required in the fight against prostate cancer.

“It was also brilliant to see Árón there to support the event and since our sponsorship began earlier this year, he has engaged superbly with our business, including the charity element, and we’re now looking forward to a strong finish to his BTCC season!

“Prostate Cancer UK is a cause that’s close to many of us and this year our people have gone above and beyond, even during the lockdown periods, to help raise a significant amount of money, and I know that everyone who attended this event was delighted to play their part in this collective fundraising effort.”
