Mereway Group invest in new Hyster fleet supplied by Briggs Equipment

Luxury kitchen manufacturer, Mereway Group, has taken delivery of 7 Hyster forklift trucks at their Birmingham warehouse hub. The new fleet is all on a 7- year contract hire and is a mix of reach, electric counterbalance and 5 ton IC units.

Mereway Group are well established as a successful luxury kitchen and bathroom manufacturer with over 30 years experience and are one of the 50 fastest growing companies in the Midlands. To help match the pace of their operations, and after the end of a 15 year relationship with their existing supplier, they invited seven materials handling providers to evaluate their evolving requirements.

Briggs Equipment was able to successfully demonstrate its capability to deliver a high quality fleet of machines, backed up by comprehensive service and infrastructure support. This included the BE Portal fleet management tool, which will now allow Mereway to have a complete overview and insight into the performance of their fleet. The extensive service support coverage that Briggs provides was also a key factor in the decision, allowing them to manage out of contract costs, introduce efficiencies and ensure accountability of their operators.

Briggs Equipment’s Regional Sales Executive, Lee Brookes, commented: “This project is a fantastic example of how at Briggs we work collaboratively with our customers to help identify the equipment that will help them solve challenges and take their business to the next level.

“In addition to the physical assets, a key a part of this agreement is the multitude of support tools and infrastructure that we offer. Being able to accurately track costs and efficiencies through our in-house BE Portal fleet management tool, will provide Mereway with a whole new perspective on their operations and provide greater clarity in key areas of their business.

“Throughout this process we’ve worked closely with the Mereway team and I’m looking forward to continuing this work and further strengthening our partnership.”

Mereway Group’s Chris Flanagan, commented: “Briggs could not have been more helpful through the entire process. From helping us specify and customise the forklifts, to the ongoing contract meetings to ensure everything is running as it should.

“The support provided through the challenging times of the pandemic & Brexit, means I cannot fault their service.”
