Briggs Equipment’s top tips when hiring industrial equipment

Top tips when hiring industrial equipment

As an experienced hire specialist, we know there are lots of things to consider when hiring industrial equipment.

Whether you’ve hired before or it’s your first time, these tips compiled by our team of experts can help you save money, avoid project delays and most importantly keep your business moving!

Tip 1 – Know your requirements

When hiring industrial equipment, it’s important to fully understand the scale of the project or job that the machine is required for. Accurately assessing this will help avoid incorrectly specifying and ensure you’ve got the appropriate equipment to complete the work.

If you’re unsure on the quantities or specific type of equipment you might need for a job, then get in touch and our team will be able to advise.

Tip 2 – Work out how long you need to hire for

Working out the length of your hire is important as this will allow you to allocate your financial and staffing resources accordingly.  At Briggs, we provide our customers with the flexibility to extend their hire period without incurring penalty fees or charges.

The amount of time for which you can hire equipment from us, starts from one week upwards on a rolling contract. If you know that you’ll need a piece of equipment for a longer period, we’ll often offer a discount. Of course, you can keep the equipment for as long as you need it for!

Tip 3 – Only hire from a trusted supplier

When hiring from Briggs Equipment you can be confident that you’re dealing with a trusted hire specialist with years of experience and a high quality fleet to match.

As a leading asset management company, our hire fleet features products from trusted manufacturers. Safety first is the foundation of our business and all of our equipment undergoes rigorous maintenance and inspection before it leaves our site.

As a business, we possess all the relevant Health and Safety accreditations and certificates and our engrained culture of Safety First extends to the equipment and services that we provide for our customers.

Tip 4 – Are your staff trained on the equipment you’re hiring?

Whether it’s forklifts, access equipment or cleaning machines, you will need to make sure that your staff are trained and qualified to operate the equipment you’re hiring.

Briggs can provide training and support at short notice to ensure your staff are ready to go as soon as the equipment is delivered on site.

Tip 5 – Factor in delivery times

At Briggs, we’re committed to delivering equipment as soon as possible to our customers’ sites. In the majority of cases we are able to complete delivery within a matter of days.

However, if your equipment involves specialist equipment or a significant number of units then being able to plan ahead will enable you to get what you need, when you need it. Make sure you factor in delivery and set-up times when planning a project so that you can get started on time.

Our team will be able to advise you on delivery times, providing you with complete clarity and the ability to effectively manage your project schedule.
