Briggs carries on tradition having its Cart Marked by The Worshipful Company of Carmen
18 July, 2018 by Kathryn Hyde
This year the Carmen celebrated their 501st anniversary and the annual Cart Marking Ceremony took place in Guildhall Yard at 10.35am on Wednesday 18th July 2018.
Vehicles were marked between the Master Carmen, Patrick Marsland-Roberts TD, The Rt.Hon The Lord Mayor of London, Alderman Charles Bowman and the Master Glover, Alvin Seth-Smith.
As modern day transport and logistic suppliers are still seen as the car-men of today, the City of London retains the right of marking annually to maintain their ancient tradition in this wonderful ceremony. Briggs Equipment has a longstanding history of providing logistics support and solutions to businesses across the UK and has prided itself on entering its own cart or forklift truck from the short term hire fleet over prior years.
The ceremony is witnessed by around 700 people, after which the ceremony dignitaries, members of The Worshipful Company of Carmen and their guests enjoy lunch in the magnificent Great Hall.
