JLG is a leading designer and manufacturer of access equipment. They’ve been innovating since 1969 to ensure operator safety when working at height.
The name JLG comes from the name of the company founder; John L. Grove. He conceptualised, built and sold the first ever JLG aerial work platform in 1970 and pioneered the access industry.
An extensive range of JLG powered access machines (also known as MEWPs or AWPs) are available from Briggs. This includes scissor lifts, articulating and telescopic boom lifts, compact crawlers, vertical mast lifts, and low-level access equipment.
Aerial work platforms are pieces of equipment which raise the operator and their tools to a required height in a safe and controlled manner.
AWPs are similar to MEWPs; however, the term MEWP refers more to lifts that can move, whilst AWP covers all lifting platform used for working at height.
Yes, to safely operate any powered access equipment you should undergo a specialist training course. HSE legislation such as PUWER (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998) states that all people using equipment at work must be adequately trained to ensure health and safety in its use, supervision or management
