Armed Forces Weekend 2023

The National Memorial Arboretum in Alrewas, Staffordshire, hosted the spectacular Armed Forces Weekend (24 & 25th June), and Briggs Equipment was proud to be the main sponsor of the event once again.

As part of our sponsorship commitment, a team of dedicated Briggs volunteers setup several stands, which consisted of a thrilling eight-car simulator, a photo booth, face painters, wellbeing dogs and much more. Briggs renowned forklift basketball was in attendance too, which saw crowds of people flocking to the display for their chance to take the perfect shot.

The 150-acre site hosted a number of other outdoor activities for the whole family, including climbing walls, zip lines and assault courses, in addition to food and craft stalls, static displays of military vehicles, and live music. Armed Forces Weekend

The weekend was a huge success and an incredible £1,600 has been raised for the Nation’s year-round place to remember, after generous donations from the public during the event has been doubled by Briggs.

Maria Howes, Head of Marketing and Business Development said: “We are very grateful for the continued support from Briggs Equipment, who regularly sponsor our Armed Forces Weekend activities. With their support, visiting families had a fantastic day out, enjoying a swathe of free fun activities while saying thank you to the Armed Forces community for their continued service.

“The money raised during the weekend will help us to preserve the inspirational stories behind our hundreds of memorials as we work to pass the baton of Remembrance to future generations.”

Janet Noble, Head of Group Engineering Services Support at Briggs Equipment commented: “Briggs is proud to sponsor the National Memorial Arboretum’s Armed Forces Weekend every year and support the fantastic work they do. We have a history of working closely with the Ministry of Defence and providing our military with the vehicles and equipment they need to keep us safe.”
