Let’s find out a little more about our very own Emma Attwood, who works here at Briggs Equipment.

Emma Attwood #InFocus with Briggs Equipment

How long have you been working at Briggs?

“Eight years this August”

What does your job role involve?

“We are the support function for the controllers, team leaders and escalation process. This can include reporting on KPI’s, covering teams and taking escalated calls.”

What do you enjoy most about your role?

“I enjoy the variety within the role, no day is the same. I’m constantly learning something new and working with different departments.”

What is your proudest moment in your career at Briggs?

“I would have to say the work I’ve done with the South and the relationships I’ve created within the team. I never understood the challenges the South faced with resource and logistics until I took over the team. The South is now considered as one team, as opposed to three individual teams. Every job / service that comes in we all work together and support one another to get it covered / completed. As a result of doing this, the South is in the best position it has ever been in with the lowest overdue PMS, defects and complaints.”

What is your biggest achievement as part of the team?

“The new challenge I’ve recently been given, as a result of the good work I’ve done with the South. Shortly, I will be moving from the South, to be deputy over the East. The East is the biggest CST to manage. I’m looking forward to a new challenge and reducing these over-due figures!”

Could you explain a bit more about the impact the Deputy role has on other areas of the business?

“Now we have a deputy assigned to each region it makes it easier to have one point of contact for any customer queries. By doing this, it helps to provide the customer with the best customer service and experience. The role has also helped with reducing WIP and overdue PMS, such as the work we have done with keeping the TP Group compliant.”

What’s your favourite film?

“Favourite film Has to be TopGun, I literally know it word for word – even the new one!”

“You can be my wingman any time.” …

Favourite meal?

“Anybody who knows me, will know it’s a steak from Miller & Carter, some people even joke that my husband and I have shares in the place haha!”

Favourite Musician?

“It all depends on my mood. Most of the time it’s pop, but I do love a Saturday night old school banger.”

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

“Don’t compare yourself to others. Your strengths and weaknesses are your own, and you have your own path to follow.”

Who are your role-models?

“I would have to say my mom and also my grandpa combined. Now I have a little one, I understand how my mom felt being a mom and also working a full time job. Then my grandpa is also like my dad, he’s the one I go to when I need anything or some advice. He always has a positive outlook and has taught me that sometimes things do go wrong, but something better is always looming.”
