Jake Aston (Talent Advisor) has completed his ultra marathon, raising over £950 for Air Ambulance UK!
A massive well done to Jake for recently completing the Ultra X Spring Trail Series last Saturday.
This was not Jake’s first marathon that he has ran for charity, having already run over 180 miles this year, and has also organised a charity gig.
Air Ambulance UK offer emergency treatment for those in life threatening circumstances and each mission is almost entirely funded through donations and the generosity of communities and individuals.
Jake said:
“Every year I try and do something challenging for the Briggs Equipment charity. In 2024 I wanted to up the ante and really push myself to run a 30-mile trail Ultra Marathon. I have given four months of my year to train for this by running 11 half marathons, one full marathon and everything else in between! The day came, and race day was here! The sun was shining, and I was ready for it.”
He completed the 26 miles with a time of 6:28:00, which he was very pleased with:
“What I wasn’t ready for was how muddy it was on the course. But through a popped groin, stabbing pains in my calves and sickness halfway round, I finished it, and I was more than happy with my time! Here’s to my next challenge!”
