Employee InFocus Natasha Lycett

Let’s get started …

How long have you been working at Briggs?

Three years in September

What does your job role involve?

We are the support for the controllers and team leaders, along with escalations and concerns process. This includes covering regional areas in absences, taking escalation calls from customers and internal employees, and sending out report updates to the wider business.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

I enjoy that no two days are the same and that there is a vast variety of tasks to be completed throughout the day. There is also a good opportunity to learn about the wider business.

What is your proudest moment in your career at Briggs?

That’s a tough choice between getting my role as a deputy, supporting the South region and improving our figures or the work that I have done with my previous region in the south for the last three years to help significantly reduce the overdue PMs and aged WIP.

What is your biggest achievement as part of the team?

The new challenge I’ve been given as deputy of the South because of the hard work I have done with S02 over the last three years. The knowledge that I already have of the struggles with logistics and resourcing, I can assist and support them with reducing aged WIP, along with training my replacement controller to the ways of working in the region.

Could you explain a bit more about the impact the Deputy role has on other areas of the business?

It has given the wider business a main point of contact for each region, allowing for easier updates on customer queries. This means that we can provide the best customer experience and service.

What’s your favourite film?

I don’t think I could pick just one film, but I do love a good comedy. I would have to say any of Adam Sandler’s films are at the top of any of my watch lists.

Favourite meal?

Personally, nothing beats authentic Mexican food, especially when paired with a fresh margarita on the beach.

Favourite Musician?

I have quite a varied taste in music depending on my mood so I couldn’t pick just one musician, but I would mainly say it has to be pop music.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

Focus on what you can control, not what you can’t.

Thank you so much for talking with us Natasha, there’s definitely some food for thought in there!
